In the spirit of using this thing again have a pointless very short update post about me.

I'm going to see the Hobbit tomorrow so expect a squee/review post about that in the near future.

I really need to catch up on Elementary and on a lot of manga I've been neglecting recently. Which one do I need to catch up with more Pandora Hearts or One Piece?

When I find the time I'll try to dive into the horrible pits that is fanfiction.net. because I've been craving good Yu-Gi-Oh fic for a while, but I always gave up after 30 minutes of sifting through horrible summaries and just re-read Vathara's ForeignXchange series for the 10th time. Why is that fandom so big, but simultanously compromised of about 90% really shitty Mary Sue/Cliche stories? I mean the Teen Wolf Fandom mananges to create about 60% good fic material, why doesn't that work for Anime?

I'm also thinking about signing up for the Teenwolf crossover bang...I'm thinking about doing an Anime fusion type thing (maybe with Soul Eater), because I need more Anime/Western Fandom fusions, damnit.

I can't really say anything about anime, because I don't really watch any (or read? Or is that manga? Or are they both the same? As you can see I know nothing about this. xD)
But teen wolf has so much quality fic. I don't watch, but there's so much good fic that I can't resist reading.

you really should watch teen wolf though! I know the fic can be irresistible, but the show is definitely worth a look! the first half of the first season can be a bit of a drag, but then it really picks up

By the time the second season rolls around you wont want to stop

I want to, but I am also that girl who follows tons of whovian blogs and knows what's happening/all the injokes and fandom stuff, but has only watched a few episodes. I'm bad at TV and to be quite honest visual media in general. My brain goes all WHAT. Plus I've heard it's pretty triggery and both times I've tried to watch I've gotten triggered so AHHHH brain stopit.

It sounds so good though and Stiles seems like he will be added to my list of favorite characters immediately.

The first scene I saw was some shower scene with tons and tons of blood and it was just like no no no do not want blood ahhh. Now from hearing fandom talk about it think it was the Jackson shower scene, but I'm not sure. And then the other one I saw was Peter-stalking-Stiles. So blood and stalking. The weird thing is, these things don't trigger me when reading about them, but when I see the visuals they do. I'm not exactly sure why, but I think this is one of the reasons why the printed word is usually easier for me that movies/TV. 0_o

Every time I think it can't get more heartbreaking, I AM PROVEN WRONG. Gil, you are making me cry. Oz, you are even making LOTTIE cry, and that is just, that is a life accomplishment right there. ;_;

AND ECHO. AND THE ALICES. I EVEN FEEL BAD FOR VINCENT RIGHT NOW WHAT WHAT WHAT AAAAAAAAHHHH.

l-lol *SHAMED* Um, I have no good explanation for where I've been. Can't blame tumblr--twitter and tumblr are pretty clearly the place where technology is going to leave me behind. OH WELL.

I have been on a TV-and-movie watching kick, which is apparently terrible for my fannish productivity. But don't worry--it never lasts. Pattern seems to be: 1 year obsessively watching TV, 7 years no TV at all, repeat. So now all I have to do is finish Burn Notice and Justified, and we can return to our normal manga fandom programming. XD

In the meantime, I will attempt to finish some of the LITERALLY DOZENS OF WIPs I have sitting around on my hard drive. They're depressing me. ^_^;

did your tv season include by any chance Teen wolf? Because if not, that is something you have to tick off while you are still in the watching tv mood. You wont regret it! It's what all the cool kids are doing right now!^^

Okay, the TV did not include Teen Wolf because, although it was obvious that all the cool kids were indeed watching it, I was busily swearing to myself that I never would.

And then somehow over the weekend I watched both seasons, and I'm still not really clear on how that happened. What.

STILES. I blame Stiles for everything! I may or may not have fast-forwarded to watch mainly the parts with Stiles in them. (Or Danny...or Lydia...or Allison when Scott wasn't present). Is Stiles everyone's favorite? He seems to be, and so he should be. BECAUSE HE IS FLAWLESS.

Stiles-love aside, I adore all of the characters and their magazine-subscriptions-worth of issues. <3 LYDIAAAAA. <3<3<3 THAT SCENE. When she was crying and then she puts the makeup on and smiles like she's never cried in her life? THAT IS THE MOST REALISTICALLY DISTURBING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN A TEENAGED GIRL DO ON TELEVISION. God. On the one hand it's so brave, and on the other hand, holy shit, Lydia. HOLY. SHIT.

I EVEN LIKE JACKSON. In fact, I understand Jackson much better than I'm comfortable with. He's got that familiar but unfortunate philosophy that as long as he's meaner to himself than he is to anyone else, it doesn't count as bullying. Which. No, Jackson. That's not how it works. This is why Danny and Lydia and possibly, reluctantly, Stiles are the only people in school who realize you're not a complete dick. *headdesk* The drinking and the playing lacrosse all night until he can't move! That is a bad coping strategy, Jackson, that is a combination of bad coping strategies! (btw, are there any serious athletes who are not secretly masochists? Because sometimes I think not.)

But on the bright side with Jackson, there's that whole scene where Stiles is attacking Scott with lacrosse balls and Jackson is visibly torn between total glee and total confusion. And, and, "If I come back and you're dead under a pile of weight, I'm taking the Porsche." And! "I AM EVERYONE'S TYPE." LOLOLOL brb dying. XD

Also I hope that somewhere someone has made a collage of images of blood and mayhem and kanima hands reaching for dying police officers, and I hope that it has a caption reading, "ARGENT FAMILY VALUES."

And then, just, Derek. DEREK. I'm sorry the universe hates you, bb, there is really nothing you could have done to deserve this much shit in your life. God, and then he fails so hard. At EVERYTHING. And, as with Gil, I just can't hold it against him. XD XD XD

Sorry, it's just, it's amazing that nearly everyone (including me) has the same reaction to Teen Wolf.

At first, "No I'm not going to watch it! It's called Teen Wolf for chrissakes" and then you find yourself bored or do want to find out what the fuss is all about..... and then you go into a watch all of teen wolf all the time mode and suddenly FEELINGS!!!

FEELINGS ALL OVER THE PLACE!

I do think fandom decided that Stiles is the best thing to ever happen to Television and if you disagree you are wrong and we can't be friends. I mean, omg, he is just so fucked up under all that bluster. To me, he is tied with Lydia for emotionally and morally the most fucked up character of the main cast. He is just so unapologetically callous in a way. If you belong to his people, he will move mountains so you are happy and if he has decided to include you, you'll stay there for the rest of his life.

But everyone else? I think as far as Stiles is concerned he doesn't want anyone to get hurt, but if it's his people or someone else, he'd abandon those other people in a heartbeat and not loose a lot of sleep over it(so...basically exactly your type of character, disguising madness and very ambigious morality under the guise of humour ^^)

LYDIA!!!!!! I LOVE HER SO MUCH YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW! That scene with the make up and her weird fucked up dynamic with Peter (peter!! You are horrible! I love you anyway!) That fallout is going to be interesting, I'm looking forward to it so much.

Another fallout that I'm looking forward to so much is Allison's redemption story-line. I love her a lot and I think people are unnecessary harsh on her. Yeah, her decisions in s2 were pretty shitty, but then she is 16 and has in the span of about 3 months found out that werewolf exists, her family hunt them, her boyfriend is one and lost two of the most important people in her life.

So, yeah, I understand her absolutely going off the rails there and am looking forward to her in s3. Even if Kate turned out to be a homicidial maniac, to Allison she was a big sister all her life and just because it turns out she burned a family to death doesn't mean the emotional connection just vanishes like that (adding to that, I do believe that Kate loved Allison a lot, so it wasn't even one-sided or just faked like with Gerard, which makes it even harder)

DEREK!! DEREK MY LOVE FOR YOU AND YOUR HORRIBLE LIFE CHOICES AND YOUR ABJECT FAILURE AT EVERYTHING THAT DOESN'T INVOLVE CREEPING AND LOOKING GOOD IN TIGHT JEANS WILL NEVER END!!!

Seriously, I don't think I would love Derek as much if he wasn't such a failure at everything ever. Like, when he tried to be all "cool" at the start of season 2 I was a bit "meh", but then it turns out IT WAS ALL FAKED HE JUST LITERALLY HAS NO CLUE HOW TO RELATE TO PEOPLE MY HEART!!

If you need more Derek feelings check out some summaries about the tie-in novel "On Fire". Apparently they are flashbacks. In Derek's POV. While he and Kate were a couple. And he thought she was his big love and that they would be married and have kids together because at heart Derek is so innocent and such a dreamer, hold me

And last but not least SCOTT!!! Another character that gets a harsh deal a lot of the time, but man I love him. He is such a puppy! He may be the archetypical shonen hero in many ways, but man he's adorable while doing it. I love his friendship with Stiles! I need to know more, where are the pre-show flashbacks, with little!stiles and little!scott meeting! And his dynamic with Derek is so interesting, because I think a reason why they don't get along is that they are actually very similar (they both want to save people; they try their best...just Scott is more sucessful), but because of his awful, awful life and awkwardness Derek just can't really communicate with Scott the way he should and Scott just sees Derek's action/results and not his intention

(another reason why, sterek shipping aside, I think the only way those two would ever effectively work together is with Stiles as the middle man, who kind of could take apart more of Derek's intentions because he doesn't necessarily shy away from the pragmatic, violent options)

So yeah,... lots of feelings...who would have thought that the most fanfiction I would ever write was going to be about a MTV show with werewolves in it (by which I mean YOU ARE WRITING AREN'T YOU?!)
