So seeing as this is another rec post challenge, you get more recs from me, but this time I'm sticking to fiction, but as per the rules they are all at least 6 months old^^

To make things more interesting I will rec stuff that I consider to be real gems in their respective fandoms, but generally not that well known which is too bad because they are awesome.

I have tried to limit myself, I could rec many more and maybe I will later, so these are just the ones that popped into mind instantly, because they are new to me or I recently re-read them etc. I also tried to give a wide range of fandoms justice, so I hope everyone finds something they might enjoy

Warning some of these fics are Gen, slash, het, some PG and some NC-17, while I wont label them, all the pages I've linked to give a rating in their descriptions so I hope that's enough. If someone wants me to put in pairings, please say so and I will.

Complete fics/Author recommendation:

Moving forward by [personal profile] metisket (also [livejournal.com profile] metisket) (D. Gray-man) After everything is over, Allen, Kanda, Lavi and Lenalee join the circus (Timcanpi POV)

Everything by this author is pure gold and she writes in a lot of (manga) fandoms, but this one holds a special place in my heart, because it was the first I ever read from her, so its the one that brought me the delight of being able to read her stuff. Its the first part of the circus verse and its funny, clever, interesting and heartbreaking as all her stories about crazies like Allen tend to be :)

Foreign xchange by Vathara (Yu-gi-oh/X-men Evolution crossover) Yugi, Tea, Seto and Mokuba visit Bayville... chaos ensues.

Another author who writes outstanding stuff and hands down my favourite crossover author. She manages to seamlessly blend worlds and characters together, while exploring themes such as loyality, honesty, family and dragons :). No really, while she does like fight scenes  (and does them very well) she really likes dragons.
This one was a hard pick, because she has done so many good stuff, but in the end I picked it because Yu-gi-oh has so very few jewels in its fandom. But even if these two universes don't appeal to you, its worth it to check out her author page if you are in the mood for crossovers, cause she has written so many, there is bound to be a fandom you are in.

The Plan by [livejournal.com profile] blind_author (Sherlock BBC) John had a plan, and its name was Get Some Sex.  And the capitals were most certainly necessary.

A very cute delightful get-together that is a lot of fun to read and should mainly motivate you to check out her other Sherlock stuff (including her still running "Republic of Heaven" a Sherlock/His dark materials fusion that kicks ass). Her characterizations are spot on and resonate really well with canon, especially John, who is empathic and nice but also ruthless and competent when he has to be

Completed:

Near Miss by binz (The Dresden Files)

This is a very nice AU with the idea "what if Johnny Marcone was hurt and couldn't become the crime lord of chicago?" In this one John and Harry meet in very different circumstances and still manage to stay themselves. One of my first fics I read in the fandom and it managed to suck me in the thing as a whole

Incurable by Warholph (Harry Potter) Non-Magic AU. Harry Potter was not sent to Hogwarts at age 11 as his parents intended. Instead, when an altercation with his uncle turns violent, he is sent to St. Brutus's Secure Centre for Incurably Criminal Boys. But four years later, he has the opportunity to attend Hogwarts, where he learns to live a life he never thought possible for himself.

I really enjoy Non-Magic AUs and this one is one of the best I've read, but not really as known as some other stuff, so it totally deserves his place here^^

Works in Progress (started before six months ago...so still counts in my book^^)

Boy with a coin
by twigcollins (The world ends with you)

Hands down the best piece of fanfic this fandom has produced till now. Its post-game and basically a exploration of the universe and characters with focus on Neku and the Neku-Joshua dynamic. If you played the game its well worth checking out (and if you own a DS but not this game, its also well worth checking out^^)

Ichirizuka by olderwoman (Rurouni Kenshin)

An exploration of the 10 years that Kenshin spend wandering. Really well written, thought out and someone behind it who is very obviously very familiar with pre-modern Japanese life and lifestyle, which makes this double the fun to read

Well that was fun, maybe I will do rec lists more often ;)

till then
