Episode Reaction, Glee 3x13 Heart

Because of a really nice friending meme and for me, I will now strive to give at least a cursory reaction to all the different crap I watch, lets see how long that resolution lasts....

So I will start with a belated reaction to Glees V-day episode "Heart"

Things I liked

- Will was nearly absent: I'm not one of those people who have always hated him, but I do think the focus shouldn't be on him and I don't like him being featured too prominently. In addition he got kind of creepy in S3 what with asking his student to be his best man? Don't you have like real friends? Also, way to make you favoritism more obvious dude.

- Tina and Mike having a cute duet.

- Sugar! First time I did, but she was a way more welcome plot motivator and for the first time actually funny. If they continue to write her like that she can totally stay

- Santana & Brittany made me smile so much, I love their dynamic, even though it would have been cool to give Heather a few more lines, Santanas made more than up for it

- I can't help myself, I love Figgins. He like all the teachers are normally hit and miss, because the writers like to use them for whatever purpose they need, regardless of character arc/personality, but I have always loved him, which is probably more credit to the actors dry delivery than anything else

Things I was "meh" about

- The Berrys....I'm sorry!! I didn't grow up with any Goldblum stuff, and while they had some funny lines I just didn't get their dynamic with Rachel and the one line about calling the Hudson-Hummel family wasn't enough background information for me, so yeah. I do hope they come back and the writers let them interact with other people/give more background for them (like what is their work, because they never seem to be home?)

- Rory....I tried to like him! But he is still so non-descript to me and if I find out he actually did lie about going to be deported, I'm going to chock a bitch

- Emma wasn't there! As much as I'm starting to dislike Will, Emma is still the cutest thing around and I'm always sad if she's not there

- Samcedes....I think they are a cute couple, but a will-they, wont-they scenario will only interest me, if there is an actual build-up for it and because there wasn't I'm kind of underinvested in them, which is a shame....it did give us Ambers awesome version of "I will always love you" though....

- Joe Hart....I mean the actor is kind of cute? But I generally don't like the idea behind the "glee project" (what I know anyway) and he seems to be another rather flat character to inflate this cast and he is probably going to take screen time away from characters I actually give a crap about

Things I disliked

- the whole God Squad idea: Like, didn't we do a more subtle PSA on religion and homosexuality in s2? Was this really necessary? I mean, I get that I probably have a very different view on those things, because I don't live in America and in Germany no young Christian I know, would even think about.....how it may be a problem to sing to gay people? WTF? And giving Mercedes the lead on that discussion? Character assassination much? Ergh, I hated the whole plot device and I hope that this is one thing where Glees horrible propensity to just drop ideas will come in handy

OTP news

- Kurt was awesome as always. Oh god at the beginning where he was pouting, because his honey wasn't there just made me want to smish him. And he had what I thought was the funniest throw-away line in the episode with his reaction to the four-leave clover being: "do you people just always carry those around?"

- Though I do persist in believing that the only reason he looked so suprised at the end was because Blaine wanted it to be a surprise and not because he didn't speak to him at all in the intervening time

-BLAINE IS BACK!!!!! OMG how I missed your face Darren, you make everything better! Correspondingly Love Shack was made of pure win (the tie pulling alone made it worth it)

Things I had entirely too much to say about
