It's been a month since Jess and Sam started dating. It's been a year since Dean last talked to Sam. It's been 2 days since the last body was found.

(Or the one where Jess defines awesomeness (just ask Sam), Dean and Sam fail to communicate without Bobby running interference, but it still works out in the end.)

Author's Notes: This was written for spn_summergen 2013 over at livejournal. I was asked for something Stanford Era, with maybe Dean hunting something near there to keep Sam safe, so I just mixed and matched a bit.

I have no clue about the geography of Palo Alto, or indeed the United States, aside from what google maps told me, so please excuse any inaccuracies. Also, I apologize for the woeful lack of action, I'm just no good at it *hangs head*

As my friend pointed out this is now the second time I've written a fic with dryads in them. I'M SORRY! Just, I already did all the research for it for my TW fic so this was just so easy^^

( The damn telephone was ringing )

comments

Too bad he picked Beacon Hills as his retirement home.
(Or the one where Stiles is a wood nymph/pixie/human hybrid who falls in love with his new grumpy werewolf neighbour)

Authors Notes: This is a fic I wrote for lenfantsavage for the tw_holidays exchange over at livejournal. She told me she would be delighted to read creature!stiles with bonus sex.

And when I couldn't think of anything, julie (halffizzbin) pitched me the idea of nymph!stiles and then it grew...and grew and finally mutated into this fic, which is by far the longest fic I have ever written of anything.

Thanks to lenfantsavage for the awesome prompt and of course mega-special-ultra thanks go to Julie, who not only came up with the idea, but who was an amazing cheerleader as this thing just would not stop growing and provided me with an extremely high speed beta so I would make my deadline. I love you, you are the best!

It's ridiculous and pointless, but I enjoyed writing it very much and it rapidly became my baby to be honest, so I hope you will enjoy it too^^
( Stiles is furious )

comments

Ok, here is something I have never done before, but seeing as a few manga people are following me now, I might as well try it. It might get me back into reading other series I have stopped (Pandora Hearts is next, but Ao no Exorcist is still looking good as well...)

It was a fruitful week indeed, as 3 of the monthly series I'm following updated:

( D.Gray-man, or KANDA WHAT )

( Noblesse )

( Kuroshitsuji or CRICKET!! )

Cautious fanfic rec of the day: So let it be said, so let it be done, Yu-Gi-Oh, Puzzleshipping, It's not every day a person gets a second chance at life. Which one do I need to catch up with more Pandora Hearts or One Piece?

When I find the time I'll try to dive into the horrible pits that is fanfiction.net. because I've been craving good Yu-Gi-Oh fic for a while, but I always gave up after 30 minutes of sifting through horrible summaries and just re-read Vathara's ForeignXchange series for the 10th time. Why is that fandom so big, but simultanously compromised of about 90% really shitty Mary Sue/Cliche stories? I mean the Teen Wolf Fandom mananges to create about 60% good fic material, why doesn't that work for Anime?

I'm also thinking about signing up for the Teenwolf crossover bang...I'm thinking about doing an Anime fusion type thing (maybe with Soul Eater), because I need more Anime/Western Fandom fusions, damnit.

For my new followers: HIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!
A thought just came to me, I have never understood how or why people who are homophobic refer to gay guys as "cocksucker" and intend it as an insult.

I mean presumably that's what your girlfriends/wifes etc. do for you as well? I mean, blow-jobs aren't something exclusive to homosexual relations, right? And seeing as most people like/love their significant others, why would you want them to do it, if you think it's so demeaning and dirty and wrong.

Just boggles the mind. Basically this is another proof that a lot of the time people who are homophobic also have latent misogynistic tendencies. Why else would they think that looking/acting/dressing in a way they perceive to be typically "feminine" should be considered an insult? Or sexual acts sometimes performed by women (giving blow jobs, being penetrated etc.) as demeaning?

comments

Just wow. Way to drop the fucking ball.

(I may be back to write up my feelings, but I'm literally just too angry right now to be fair to the other characters, just fuck you glee, where is my fix-it fanfiction fandom?
It's been a while, time for some feminist meta, today: Glee - good for gays, bad for dames

Ok yes, I'm sorry I guess I really need to do a meta as an ETA to my review of last nights episode of glee.

Because I may have made the general mistake of letting myself be distracted by the gays and Blaines shining face and the fact that trans issues where actually treated with respect. And also, because this problem isn't new and I need to say something about it every episode and I kind of accepted it with a heavy heart, like I accept so many things about glee, because it has one of my few canon couples being adorable on screen and also hilarious movies.

But once in a while it is time to put on my big feminist hat and speak about the fact, that while Glee has made excellent episodes and changes for gay people in mass-media and at home. Has tackled quite a few interesting and controversial topics well and made a difference for many people socially, over the boundaries of what a silly little Musical show probably expected. But it has never, never, ever been able to do gender right.

( Glee and female representation: an un-love story (slight concept spoiler for 3x16) )

As I said in the beginning, this is not a new problem. If I had to pick a show that does queer presentation right (at least more than others) glee would be in my mind in a heartbeat. But when it comes to female representation it would maybe not be the last one, but definitely way down the list (even Supernatural is better and there every woman dies!)

comments

unpopular opinion time (not really): I really love satire when it’s done well even if it’s done for stuff I really like. I just noticed again, because I just found out about the glee reviews from vulture and I’m laughing my ass off. Not because I necessarily agree with everything they say (though they do have some points, because glee is horribly broken, omg, why can’t my babies be in a better scripted show ;___;), like I am not that harsh and my love for Blaine is endless, but because their satire comes from a place of caring AND more importantly doesn’t discrimante.

I just noticed that that is what good satire is about for me. I worried a bit the past few weeks, because I felt compelled to defend Blaine/Darren from all the hate he gets, that I was choosing to be selectively blind and wouldn’t be able to takeanycriticism against him. Which would suck, because people are totally entitled to find him boring, if they want to. But the difference ingoodsatire, like in what vulture does, is to be fair about it. If the writers make weird choices, make fun of that, if the actors make funny faces, take a piss. But don’t do it to one character if you wont do it to another.

They do it to everyone in a cheeky way and then I can totally crack up about Kurt-wardrobe-ridiculing and Blaine-bashing.

comments

God I need to organize my bookmarks...I've kinda been abusing the "memories" function on livejournal, which is fine I guess, but the whole point of having a bookmarking site in the first place, was so I could have an overview AND look at all the stuff I liked by tags...

Actually what I should do is put on some music and organize all of my different stuff together, I mean having diigo and my AO3 bookmarks is fine, but I really need to get a grip on my fanfiction.net favourites and get rid of all the bad links and horrible stuff I liked 6 years ago. AND I finally figured out how to use tumblr, so now a bit of stuff is just liked over there. argh

(actually what I should be doing is writing and learning stuff for uni, but I guess organizing bookmarks will happen before that *le sigh*

comments

Sometimes I get a very specific yearning for a specific scenario. Like, I'm looking to catch up on all the HP fanfiction I've missed in the last 4 years or so. But when I tried looking for finders communities or rec lists there were outdated or horribly, horribly tagged.

And then I cry a little inside, because the Supernatural fandom spoiled me so much and why can't every fandom be as organized, is a well tagged finders community really too much to ask for, god.

I just want Harry centric Outsider POV from like his time at the Dursleys or from people who knew him then, is that really too much to ask for?

comments

The episode included a PSA for the Trevor Project, a national organization that helps prevent LGBT suicide that counts Daniel Radcliffe and Glee‘s own Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Kevin McHale, and Adler among its supporters. The episode of the Fox hit led to a record number of traffic for the organization’s website and phone number. “What was great about the show is that they worked in conjunction with us so we knew in advance that there was going to in all likelihood be an increase in volume,” says cofounder Peggy Rajski. “What happened was the volume went up about 300 percent, but we were ready.”
Rajski says the Trevor Project toll-free number fielded triple the number of calls normally received, plus a huge online boost. “On average, our site probably attracts about an average of 1500 visits a day,” she admits. “Tuesday we got 10,000. There’s the power of network TV.”

And that's why love or hate the decisions the writers made with the episode, it was worth it for the thousand of people who may have a better/longer life because of it. If that is what happens because of it, if people from all over understand that it's not weak to need help and not uncommon to feel bad, I will live with any clunky dialouge or hammy choices. Because in the end that's what counts.

comments

Sooo because I obviously had to much time on my hand today (Procrastination FTW) and was always asking myself, who actually gets the most songs etc. on Glee (and didn't find it anywhere else), I compiled a Top Three list. Now because they are some differences in when they joined etc. I'm going to do a bit of breakdowen, different categories, if you will. All the information is taken from the Character pages of the glee wikia and I only looked at the regular kid members (+Sam)

( All Seasons )

( Season One )

( Season Two )

( Season Three )

comments
